Gemma's Qualifications as a trusted fitness instructor and expert

Chatting with a class last week, I realised that I really don’t shout about my qualifications enough. No, not just my BA (Hons) Modern Languages that helps me sing along at Zumba! Although I now have 17 years of instructing under my belt (what?!), I still love studying and learning new things. I enjoy the continuous development side of my work, it keeps my knowledge up to date and gives me the confidence to pass that expertise on through our online and face-to-face workouts and chats!

So, what makes me an expert to be trusted? The fundamental qualifications that I have relate to the type of exercise we do at Gemma Pearce Fitness. Over the years, I have sought out qualifications that help my audience do what they love to do:

  • Level 2 Exercise to Music

  • Level 3 Pilates

  • Level 3 Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults

  • Level 3 Supporting Pre & Post Natal Clients with Exercise & Nutrition

  • Level 4 Postural Stability for Elderly Participants

  • Level 2 Circuit Training

My certificates also follow the path of the exercise I love to teach:

  • Zumba

  • Zumba Gold

  • Groovelates

  • Boxercise

  • Barre Fitness

  • Freestyle Fitness Yoga

  • Fitness Pilates

  • Mummilates

  • Chair Based Exercise

And all these qualifications and certificates are updated and renewed regularly to keep me on my toes and make sure I have the most up to date knowledge to pass on to you. My reputation is everything and this is not just a hobby for me so I take my qualifications extremely seriously. You’ll still find unqualified instructors setting up but I believe in the importance of knowledge to lead safe and effective exercise for everyone. As I specialise in exercise for older people, I’m interested in different conditions that affect us as we age, especially as we’ve recently had a diagnosis of Parkinson’s in our family. At the moment I’m studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Clients with Long-term Conditions that also covers asthma, arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, and more. You can be sure that my learning and development will continue to grow and I will always be happy to share new ideas and answer questions.
