About Gemma Pearce Fitness

Gemma Pearce Fitness was set up in 2011 with Gemma’s first love of Zumba expanding to include a whole lot of different ways to have fun and get sweaty.

The team of fully trained, supportive instructors all share Gemma’s vision: the best way to get fit and stay healthy is to enjoy what you do. So our fitness classes are designed to be as much fun from the very first time you go, whether you’re 25 or 75, in fact many of our ladies have been coming for years and years!

If you want to tone up, get fitter, lose weight or simply make friends and try something new, there is a class in Didcot, Abingdon, Steventon, Drayton, Sutton Courtney and Chilton to suit you. All workouts are suitable for all ages and abilities with options for higher or lower impact in a non-judgemental, non-competitive atmosphere.

If you’d like to join one of our fitness classes, check out the timetable and get in touch. You can be sure of a warm welcome – we look forward to meeting you soon!

"The best way to get fit and stay healthy is to enjoy what you do."

Meet Claire: Working full time with three young children, I found that I didn’t have the time for my first fitness love – netball. My Mum suggested I try Zumba with her and I’ve been hooked ever since.

The atmosphere in the class is so friendly and fun, we have such a laugh. I soon became a ‘front row geek’, knowing all the steps and loving the music! I’ve made some great friends, we all get on really well.

Gemma asked me if I’d be interested in taking on the class to cover her maternity leave and at first I thought she was mad. When I pondered it some more, I thought, well I’m going along anyway, I might as well! So after passing a gruelling 10 hour Level 1 training day with 44 other instructors, I’ve now moved from the front row to facing the class and loving it!

We’re always introducing new music and steps to the class and as long as I remember to give them all the right directions and think about the next steps rather than getting caught up in the music, we get along fine!

My Zumba buddies will know very well that I’m a bit obsessed with leggings, I’ve got loads of pairs. Becoming a fully-fledged Zumba instructor gave me the perfect excuse to build my collection even more!

My first love was dance. From my first stage appearance at the age of four, performing ‘Chick Chick Chicken’, I continued with ballet and tap into my teens. I moved into Salsa, Ballroom and Latin dance at university and competed in national competitions, eventually retiring at the ripe old age of 23!

2017 was a big year for Gemma Pearce Fitness as I welcomed my gorgeous baby Lucy into my life and had to adapt the business as a working mum. Growing a team of amazing, enthusiastic instructors has been wonderful. It’s meant that I can offer even more sessions around the area.

In my spare time (what’s that?), I love growing vegetables (me) and eating dirt (Lucy) at my allotment and I enjoy long walks... and drinking Prosecco!

Meet Gemma: I began teaching in 2005 and I took the plunge and became a full-time fitness instructor in 2011, leaving my career in publishing behind. I set up Gemma Pearce Fitness in 2011 and I can’t imagine doing anything else now.

I love the variety of our classes - no two are ever the same so it’s never boring and always great fun!
