About Gemma Pearce Fitness

Since 2011, Gemma Pearce Fitness has helped the ladies (and gents!) of South Oxfordshire become fitter, healthier and happier.

Gemma runs enjoyable, inclusive fitness classes face-to-face in Abingdon, Steventon and Chilton, and via Facebook and her website.

Back in 2011, Gemma started with just one Zumba class – her first fitness love. She still loves Zumba and Zumba Gold and has introduced a load more ways to have fun and get sweaty or stretch and relax.

Gemma’s vision has always been ‘the best way to get fit and stay healthy is to find an exercise that you love’. At Gemma Pearce Fitness, you are sure to find something that suits you, if not dance, it might be Pilates, stretching or WalkFit.

Gemma also specialises in exercise for older people. In 2023, she launched Retired and Fitter, a range of gentle online at-home classes for retired people who want to ease joint pain, improve mobility and feel fitter for longer.

If you want to tone up, get fitter, lose weight or simply make friends and try something new, there is a Gemma Pearce Fitness class for you. Whether you’re 25 or 85, have never exercised or have fallen out of love with fitness, our workouts suit everyone, with options for higher or lower impact moves in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere.

"The best way to get fit and stay healthy is to enjoy what you do."

Meet Gemma: I began teaching in 2005 and I took the plunge to become a full-time fitness instructor in 2011, leaving my career in publishing behind. I set up Gemma Pearce Fitness in 2011 and I can’t imagine doing anything else now.

I love the variety of our classes - no two are ever the same so it’s never boring and always great fun!

My first love was dance. From my first stage appearance at the age of four, performing ‘Chick Chick Chicken’, I continued with ballet and tap into my teens. I moved into Salsa, Ballroom and Latin dance at university and competed in national competitions, eventually retiring at the ripe old age of 23!

A Mum of 1, my spare time is taken up with Disney movies, Lego, my friends and family, my garden, long walks... all interspersed with the odd rum cocktail!
