News from Gemma Pearce Fitness!

This week, I’ve been going down memory lane and I’ve been thinking back to this week 4 years ago… Covid gave us lemons and we made fitness lemonade!

On Monday 16 March 2020, Boris Johnson advised everyone to avoid “non-essential contact” with others as Covid approached (we didn’t go into full lockdown until a week later).

I knew I had to take our classes online, but I had no idea how! The very next day I set Nikki the task of getting in touch with everyone, cancelling our classes, and I started trying to live stream. I had no option but to push the furniture out of my conservatory and get going.

With an extremely steep learning curve, and the help of Peppa Pig (for Lucy!), we got there! And of course, the effervescent Claire did her hilarious live streams with her Mum Shirley!

I’m so proud of keeping our community going as well as continuing the exercise classes. The support and friendships that we gave each other during those long lockdown months are some happy memories of that scary time.

I can’t believe how quickly we changed how we exercised in the space of a few weeks, and I’m thrilled that we are still online four years later.

Our online classes have developed into an Online Membership where members are able to do live online classes as well as have access to all our recorded classes in a website dashboard. The classes are convenient, cost-effective, fun, flexible and varied.

As with everything, it’s due a revamp after 4 years so I’m actually going to closing the membership to new members next week, and it won’t be reopening again until the summer.
