IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE - YOU'RE DOING REALLY WELL WITH YOUR FITNESS OR WITH YOUR WEIGHT LOSS AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU HIT A BRICK WALL.
You get stuck on a certain number on the scales or you feel like your fitness is not improving or it's even going downhill! The frustration is that nothing has changed except the results that you've been used to. Many people want to give up at this point, and in fact many people do. However the most important thing to remember is that just because the number on the scales hasn’t changed or you feel different during a class, doesn't mean that you haven’t come a long way from where you started. First things first - chuck out your scales! Or at least hide them in the loft or throw them into the garage! Instead, measure your success in inches lost or how you feel or how your clothes are fitting - don't let the number on the scales affect your sense of wellbeing. If you do hit a plateau with your fitness, it’s really important not to give up! Don’t feel negative or feel sorry for yourself, don’t stop eating healthily or coming to class. Your body may be getting used to your routine so why not vary your eating habits or your exercise routine. Not only will this shock your body out of it’s routine but will keep you motivated too. Why not go for a long walk this weekend? An early morning swim? Or if you do Zumba, why not try Body Blitz or Pilates?
