We're adding another Abingdon Zumba Gold class to our timetable!
Mondays 12.30 - 13.15pm
Long Furlong Community Centre
What is Zumba Gold?
Zumba Gold is a lower impact version of Zumba that is still every bit as fun to do – and just as good for you! It's not slow or boring, it's just less intense. These classes are for older adults or anybody who might be needing a slightly slower pace, less bouncing around and easier to follow choreography. Most of the music is Latin or international rhythms, but there will also be some oldies and music you'll know... and it's not as loud either!
I’m unfit, will I keep up?
We all have to start somewhere and there are people at every level of fitness at Zumba Gold classes. Go at your own pace and do what feels right for you. My top tip is to on the instructor and the music – enjoy yourself and push as hard as you want to. If you need a break, march on the spot or do your own thing until you’re ready to get back to it.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that allow you to move freely - generally leggings and a t-shirt are best. You need to wear trainers with cushioned soles that allow you to twist and turn your feet (you may find that running shoes do not allow you to slide and swivel due their deep tread).
Do I have to be able to dance?
Previous dance experience is definitely not required! We are determined that everyone gets a fabulous workout, so as long as you’re not afraid to try, you can certainly do Zumba. It’s not a structured dance class, the moves are repeated several times and are designed to be fun and easy to follow.
Can I hide at the back?
Yes of course, if you want to! As long as you can see the instructor’s movements and directions when the music is changing. You won’t look silly if you can’t do it – no one cares! Everyone is too focussed on listening to the music, having fun and watching what’s coming next!
How do I book and how much does it cost?
All classes must be booked on the website. Each class costs £7.50 or you can sign up for all of November for just £26

I LOVE helping people of all abilities improve their strength and mobility. I focus on making my classes effective, safe, and enjoyable, ensuring you see real progress without feeling overwhelmed.
