4 reasons to do strength training

1. It’s the key to losing fat

2. It’s more effective than cardio

3. It’s essential to maintain healthy bones

4. Stronger muscles help you with every day tasks

But where do you start?

I’ve been able to develop and test new classes and one of these is Lift! Lift is a handweight-based strength class. I wanted to create something that was accessible but challenging for everyone - for those who’ve never picked up a handweight, for those who are peri-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal who need it the most plus fitter people who’d like to add something different to their weekly routine.

Did you know that the Chief Medical Officer has advised that everyone should do strength-based training at least twice a week to keep muscles, joints and bones strong? One of those sessions could be Pilates and the other session could be Lift!... and as you can see, you don’t need expensive equipment! People have been using a wide variety of weights and household objects!
