Can exercise release tension in my shoulders? Yes, exercise can help release tension in your shoulders by promoting blood flow and stretching and strengthening the muscles around your shoulder joint. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which are natural painkillers that can also help reduce tension and improve your mood. Certain exercises, such as Pilates, can specifically target the muscles that commonly hold tension in the shoulders and upper back, such as the trapezius, levator scapulae, and rhomboids. These exercises can help to release tension and improve flexibility in those muscles, which can in turn help to alleviate discomfort in the shoulder and neck area. ------------------------------------------------------------ ** FREE Retired & Fitter Online Class
