At Body Blitz, we perform exercises such as squats, lunges, planks and burpees (that's your high intensity) for 45 seconds then rest for 15 seconds (the interval part). During a 30 minute class, you’ll do up to 24 different exercises to work different parts of your body.

It’s perfect for my low boredom threshold due to the fact that the bursts of exercise are so short and that there is so much variety in the class! But undoubtedly the very best reason to do interval training is that it is a true “fat attack”! HIIT burns fat and improves fitness faster than longer periods of constant, medium intensity exercise. This means that you can achieve as much in a 30 minute HIIT class as you do in a longer class, or if you can do it as well as an hour long class you can significantly boost results. When you alternate between short bursts of very high intensity effort and rest, your body is able to process lactic acid build up, which reduces fatigue and burns fat at a faster rate than steady state exercise. If you want to achieve improved fitness and burn fat, then you really need to try
